BIM Manager
Description
Zerr Berg Architects is seeking an experienced BIM Manager with 3+ years of professional experience in the architecture industry. This role will lead the implementation and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across our design projects, ensuring seamless collaboration, model accuracy, and innovation in digital design delivery. It will also champion the ethical and practical use of AI to enhance design iterations, automate documentation, improve model QA/QC, and streamline coordination. The ideal candidate is proactive and detail-oriented, with exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills. A strong understanding of architectural design workflows and proficiency in Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud are essential. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborate effectively across disciplines, and meet tight deadlines is critical. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain drawing standards, protocols, and workflows tailored to architectural design and documentation.
- Lead BIM coordination efforts across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure model integrity and clash-free designs.
- Collaborate closely with architects, designers, and project managers to support design development and documentation using BIM tools.
- Provide training, mentorship, and technical support to design teams on BIM software and best practices.
- Oversee model setup, quality control, and data management throughout all project phases.
- Integrate BIM with project scheduling, cost estimation, and visualization tools where applicable.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in architectural BIM and digital design.
- Establish and maintain AI-assisted workflows (e.g., automated model checks, script generation, quantity extraction, and document drafting) that complement existing BIM standards.
- Leverage AI-enabled visualization and rendering accelerators to support early design narratives while aligning with office visualization standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in BIM management or coordination within an architectural firm.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Experience with Dynamo, Lumion, Enscape, or similar tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of architectural workflows, design documentation, and project delivery methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate across teams.
- Experience developing and implementing BIM standards and training programs.
- Familiarity with BIM-related standards and cloud-based collaboration platforms.
- Hands-on experience using AI to accelerate BIM tasks (e.g., Dynamo/pyRevit code generation, parameter mapping, QC rule creation, or documentation drafting).
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
