West Fargo Park District West Fargo, ND

Rustad Recreation Center Phases I & II

The Rustad Recreation Center is a place for community, family and individual play developed by the West Fargo Park District to provide activity opportunities for all age groups and abilities, included dedicated spaces for youths and seniors. Community involvement sessions were held to create the scope of work and expected amenities for the new building, and also helped guide the decision to make a multi-phase project.

The building includes two basketball courts, a youth gymnasium, four volleyball courts, meeting and event spaces, a lobby for gatherings, an outdoor patio space, pickle ball courts, concessions, restrooms with individual showers and administrative offices for the West Fargo Park District. A youth area includes an indoor playground for year-round play and recreation.

The entry provides visitors with immediate access to the activities area, public assembly lobby, park district activity staff and electronic registration. Second floor access to the district’s administration and track is within the same space. Extensive windows create visual ties to the outdoor green park spaces and site activity areas. All gathering spaces were created with flexibility in mind due to the expected diversity of events that the center holds.
