St. Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church Breckenridge, MN

St. Mary’s Catholic School

St. Mary’s Catholic School has entered a new chapter, moving from its century-old building into a modern facility designed to support today’s students and community. The new school serves Pre-K through 8th grade with spacious, naturally lit classrooms that create an uplifting environment for learning and growth.

Key features of the new building include a library and media center, a cafeteria, and a full gymnasium, complemented by support spaces such as storage, accessible restrooms, and a commercial kitchen. A secure administrative suite ensures controlled entry, while the parish office suite was seamlessly incorporated into the new addition. The facility connects directly to the historic St. Mary’s Catholic Church, allowing shared use of the cafeteria and gymnasium for parish and school events.

Modern building systems were prioritized throughout the design, including a high-performance HVAC system, automatic fire-suppression system, and efficient LED lighting. A future phase will transform the site of the former school into a new playground, ensuring outdoor space is as thoughtfully planned as the interior.

The project honors the school’s history with a cornerstone commemorating the original building and by incorporating the beloved statue of St. Mary’s from the former school as a focal point near the new parish office entrance. A new statue of the patron saint now graces the main entry.

St. Mary’s Catholic School was officially dedicated in September 2024, marking a new beginning while celebrating its proud history of faith and education in Breckenridge.
