Ann has been with Zerr Berg Architects and Gehrtz Construction Services since 2020. As the Marketing and Business Development Director, Ann ensures that both companies are visible in the local community and online spheres. She ensures that potential clients can find the firms and understand how their services will help business and individual growth. Ann has a B.S. in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in Graphic Communication from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. Outside of work, Ann can be found taking up various outdoor activities ranging from growing food and plants, hiking and exploring. She is also a runner, avid reader, maker, and yogi.
What made you want to work here?
So many reasons! ZBA & GCS are both heavily involved in the local community and I loved that I would have the opportunity to be involved in the growth and success of many local businesses and individuals. The firms works closely with many local school districts and fostering those relationships and helping to impact generations of learners through our work is a great motivator. I also have a deep connection with the fiscal stewardship that the partners have ingrained in the culture. As somebody who believes in maximizing funds in my personal life, it is a very natural fit to work for a company that does the same for our clients!
What’s the best part of your job?
I love being part of the very beginning and the very end of projects that require fundraising or referendums. Experiencing the energy and passion that our clients have before design has even started, when we’re figuring out what a specific community needs to be successful into the future and it’s a multitude of ideas and possibilities will always inspire me. Getting to add value to that process and helping energize and inspire supporters, and educate and encourage others who are resistant makes coming into work a pleasure. Then years down the road, to be at a ribbon cutting, or on-site doing professional photography of the new spaces, everything is brought full-circle. There is tremendous pride for me in knowing the work that our firm does every day is adding value to the lives of so many.
Any awards, certificates, or other special licenses?
My adventurous spirit and love of learning have led to me to become a licensed private pilot, certified scuba diver, master gardener and certified yoga instructor. I am also an alumna of United Way’s 35 Under 35 program.
