Ben has been with Gehrtz Construction Services since 2016 and was promoted to Senior Construction Manager in 2023. He has a construction management degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Ben enjoys working with all types of people and learning from their experiences and expertise so that he can apply what he learns to future projects. He facilitates collaboration between his clients and the design team and is an open and eager problem solver and asset throughout the project’s lifetime. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, playing softball, fishing, going to the lake and spending time with his family.
What made you want to work here?
I had the opportunity to work as a subcontractor on one of their projects and was very impressed by the comradery and professionalism that they showed everyone on the team. After witnessing how eager everyone was to share their knowledge and promote everyone’s success I was sold!
What’s the best part of your job?
I love all the relationship-building that I get to do with the contractors and design team. There’s no better feeling than a well-oiled team navigating their way through problems – makes the result that much more rewarding when everyone works together!
Best CM fun fact or tip?
The most successful projects I’ve worked on have had a lot of up-front coordination and buy-in from the whole team. Having contractors who feel like their input is valued and that they’re working towards the completion of an impactful project is a great way to encourage camaraderie and ensure that everyone genuinely cares about the success of the job.
