Currently pursuing his architecture degree from NDSU, Jade began his internship at Zerr Berg Architects in 2023. Drawn to the field for the marriage of creative and technical skills required, Jade appreciates the opportunity to make a positive impact on the built environment. Growing up he found himself fascinated with not only drawings, film, and photography, but also the process of making those visual art forms.
What has been your favorite part of your internship so far?
It has been an incredible learning opportunity! I have been able to really delve into the technical side of architecture working on drawings and details. I have also learned how to express ideas through drawings in the most clear and concise way possible, which has been a fun challenge that I have enjoyed getting to explore and practice.
What made you want to intern here?
Growing up in Fargo, I have been impacted by many of the projects ZBA has worked on such as Davies High School and Hope Lutheran. I appreciate the work that has gone into making great spaces throughout this community, even more so now that I have had a peek behind the curtains to see all the work that goes into these projects!
What keeps you busy outside of work?
I enjoy graphic design and photography and spend a good amount of time being creative and learning within those mediums. I also love board games and watching movies. I’ve been really into the original Indiana Jones movies lately too – I think I enjoy them more with each watching!
