What’s the best part of the internship so far?

Getting to know everyone has been incredibly easy. The team has been so kind and always willing to help with any questions I’ve had. I’ve found it easy to talk to everyone, and it already feels like I’ve been part of the company much longer than I actually have.

What is your favorite Fargo/Moorhead building? Why?

The Cass County Courthouse is just a historic building. I love the brick work and the clock tower and how it turns into this emerald green at night. In addition, the interior is very well detailed and has history plastered all over the walls.

What interested you in pursuing architecture as a career?

I grew up in a construction-working family, which gave me early exposure to the industry. Once I was old enough, my first job was with a foundation company, where I did a little of everything, from taking apart semi-truck engines to rolling slab on site. As I continued working through high school, I began to realize that while I appreciated the environment, I wasn’t sure it was where I wanted my future to be. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to pursue something more. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands and being creative, and architecture allows me to combine both.
