Interior Design Intern

Shler Mohammed

As an Interior Design Intern, Shler supports a variety of ZBA projects and values the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from her peers while continuing to develop new skills. She is currently studying Interior Design at North Dakota State University. Outside of work, Shler enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, while also valuing moments of quiet and reflection. She makes time for activities that keep her grounded, whether that’s working on an art project, enjoying a peaceful moment, or getting lost in a good book.

What interested you in pursuing interior design as a career?

Growing up, I always loved being creative. I didn’t limit myself to a particular type of project – I simply loved to create. I knew very early on in life that I wanted a career that allowed me to be creative – one that I was passionate about. When I first read about interior design, I knew immediately that this was the path for me. Interior design allows me to blend creativity with technical precision, and I am deeply passionate about both.

What local volunteer or professional programs are you involved in?

I am the President Elect on NDSU’s ASID board and also a student member of NDID.

What made you want to work here?

While I enjoy designing and getting to see my ideas come to life, I want my career to have a stronger purpose than just aesthetics and functionality. Zerr Berg’s dedication to serving the community really aligns with me. It is more fulfilling to me to know that I can leave a positive mark on my community and its generations to come.
