The Center for Pain Medicine was designed to provide an inviting, comfortable experience for patients. Natural lighting and soft tones were spread throughout the building to create a calm, welcoming environment for patients as they entered surgery and/or recovery. The design team recognized that it was critical to create a physical environment that was not only efficient and functionally effective but also one that was comforting and contemporary – one that mirrors and supplements the quality of care being provided. Each space is equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
The project was split into two phases, the first created a single operatory suite with support spaces (decontamination, sterilization, storage and recovery) that were designed to accommodate the additions planned for Phase II. Phase II created space for an additional operating room, two recovery rooms and extra auxiliary spaces.
