After 50 years of growth and expansion, First Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN had outgrown their current space. Zerr Berg Architects worked closely with the church’s administrative staff and building committee to determine the needs and wants of the church as this project moved them toward their future. It was determined that the new church spaces would fit four basis functions; worship, fellowship, education and outreach.
The new building includes ample informal and formal worship space with a 360-seat multipurpose worship space, fellowship hall with seating for over 150, a serving kitchen and an education wing. This configuration allows for focused future ministry expansion through a 500-seat sanctuary addition with an administrative wing and an expanded education/music wing.
