The Hulbert Aquatics Center was built out of the community and school district’s need for a safe space for swimming meets, practice, and recreational use. The facility utilized 15,315 sf of existing space along with a new addition of 65,000 sf to create the center.
The building holds a 10-lane, 54-meter Myrtha Pool with a diving depth of 14 feet. There are four one-meter and two three-meter dive stands along the edge of the pool. There is an additional 4,800 sf lesson and warm-up pool with six lanes. This secondary pool is mostly used for aerobics classes and swimming lessons. Spectator seats for up to 1,150 people align the pool along with viewing concourses on three sides.
In addition to the pools, there are three team rooms, offices, a family locker room, club team rooms, dryland training, classrooms, concessions, and a public lobby.
