The North Dakota National Guard Readiness Center was designed in compliance with the Department of Defense’s United Facilities Criteria regarding security and protection. The center houses administrative space, storage, weapons vaults for three National Guard units and a primary staff administrative area. The facility also includes an assembly hall, kitchen, auditorium, classrooms, learning center, brigade staff training room, physical fitness area, general purpose work bay and numerous supporting spaces.
The site was developed to include access to roadways, parking for both military and personal vehicles, a loading dock, helipad, water detention area and vast green space. There is a controlled perimeter around the entire site and an access control facility sits at the site’s entrance. Three separate buildings were designed and built as part of this project including the main Readiness Center, large vehicle storage building, and controlled access buildling.
The project achieved LEED Silver certification for its thoughtful consideration of sustainable practices, materials and building systems.
